Culture
The plays of Detlef Sierck are the standard repertory at the towns three theatres and Bretonnian love poetry is constantly in and out of vogue. There is even a reasonable chance the boyar won’t serve visitors kvas.[1a]
Status
To many Kislevites, this is the stereotypical provincial town, where bungling country bumpkins come from in jokes told the capital. The citizens know this and try to break the stereotype by achieving the heights of culture and fashion but this just make the jokes worse, as they are mocked as know-nothing provincials who try too hard. Notable
- Irina Putortin, the ruling boyar, who is trying to put together a unit of riflemen to supplement the Winged Lancers that are the city’s pride and joy. [1a]
