Gnistre is a Incarnate Elemental of Chamon that some worship as a male minor god in and around Salzenmund. [1a]

The Elemental has no interest in mortals who offer it sacrifice and prayer, rather it needs to return to the Wind of Chamon. [1a]

Appearance

Very occasionally it appears to mortals, when it does so it mimics their shape as a silvery humanoid or becomes a flowing and serpentine creature. [1a]

History

It was summoned into the mortal world by the Elf Wizard Athiastra Weavecaller who attempted to bind the spirit but failed and the elemental sought refuge within the rock of a nearby hill. [1a]

When the Jutones arrived in the area they discovered a vaulted cavern glittering with silver with a mercurial entity, gleaming, twisting and floating in the centre. A shaman of the tribe freed the spirit which turned turned into a great silver serpent that swam through the earth, transmutates stone into silver ore as it moved. [1a]

The rituals that the Shaman performed to placate the God are now practiced by the Silversmiths’ Guild and as half-remembered ceremonies in the city itself. [1a]

Da Moon Wurm

Night Goblins of Da Shiny Moon tribe encountered what they called Da Moon Wurm after following trails of silver ore it left as it swam through the rock. Unlike the humans they realised that it wasn’t quite a god, like Gork and Mork, but when it passed through one group and turned them into glistening silver statues, they realised it had power! [1b]

They followed the magical beast deeper under the hills, until it brought them to a flooded Dwarf fortification created during the War of Vengeance. Looking down the Goblins saw a silver moon trapped in its waters, actually a reflection of Mannslieb shining down an air shaft. The goblins decided that if the moon could be brought down from the sky, trapped underground, perhaps, the whole order of the world could be changed! [1c]

Da Shiny Moon Goblins began gathering Da Moon Wurm’s leavings to make a new moon for it — Da Unda Moon. This, they believe, will bring about Da Big Up-Down, when Da Moon Wurm will take their moon up into the sky and drag the subterranean world up with it. In this new world, Da Shiny Moon Tribe will hunt those who once hunted them. [1c]
