Hekesh was one of the last of the kings in Nehekhara before Settra. It is said that he made war on many kings.[1]
After Hekesh, there was strife around the land. Men fought men and often this led to hundreds of deaths and the destruction of whole communities of desert dwellers. Generally, those who lived in cities had a better chance of survival due to the large numbers of people.[1]
