Rahmohtep, the Scarab King was a King of Numas in ancient Nehekhara. [1a]

A proud and warlike king, respected and feared by friend and and enemy alike. [1b]

Appearance

He is depicted as being broad-shouldered and dark-skinned with his face obscured by a scarab mask. [1b]

History

In Life

He is said to have entered into a pact with a unnamed Scarab Godwhich enhanced his battle skills and gave him great physical strength. He expanded the influence and lands of Numas to the north and east of the city fighting Orcs & Goblins as well as other kings. [1b]

In particular, he fought against the powerful city of Khemri and its king Rakaph III [1b] and when he died, his successor Queen Rasut. Although Rahmohtep was never defeated in battle, he was never able to take Khemri. [1c]

Sources indicate that he was finally poisoned and killed by a member of his own family. [1c]

Tomb

One of the greatest temple-shrines built in Numas was constructed to house his body and with him was interred the core of his army - some 6000 warriors. [1c]

Military

He commanded an army of around 60,0000 - not only warriors of Numas but also Ebonian and Kahied auxiliaries. [1c]

Notable

Weapons and Equipment

He favoured a massive curved sword and fought from a gold and ebony chariot. [1b]
