Solar Engine

Solar Engines are powerful and ancient magical weapons used by the Lizardmen. ^[1]

When they are needed, these eldritch and inexplicable artefacts are taken from a secure chamber deep within the confines of a pyramid-temple and placed upon a Bastiladon’s carapace. It is said by the Skink Priests that a Bastiladon is favoured by Chotec — the Lord of the Sun, that this creature alone is worthy to carry the Solar Engine.^[1]

When activated, the arcane machine sends forth invigorating rays that will stir nearby reptiles to new heights of action and violence. In addition, when the attending Skink crew intone the correct blessings to the sun god, the Solar Engine will emit a beam of intense heat, burning any foe, proof of the favour of Chotec. ^[1]

Of all the jungle creatures, only a Bastiladon will bear the superheated device upon its back. ^[1]
