There are six Mistresses of the convents of the Sorceresses each of whom has a Black Staff as a talisman and symbol of her office, enabling her to channel much greater power than normal. ^[3a]

Magic

• 6th Edition: They may use Dark Magic, the Lore of Death and Lore of Shadow. ^[3b]

Weapons, Armour and Equipment

• 6th Edition: High Born: Hand Weapon. May ride a Cold One, Dark Pegasus, Dark Steed or a Manticore. May take Magic Items. ^[3b]
• 7th Edition: May ride a Black Dragon, Cold One, Dark Pegasus, Dark Steed or a Manticore. May take Magic Items. ^[1]
• 8th Edition: Hand weapon, variety of options including magical items and mounts. ^[2]
