Sevekai
Sevekai was a Dark Elf Shade and agent of Witch King Malekith during the War of the Beard. [1a]
History
As a hired killer, he had killed at least one noble in Clar Karond. [1a] He slept with the Sorceress Drutheira, but she had stabbed him in the back with a ritual athame when he teased her about her skills as a lover. [1f]
On the orders of Malekith, his and team began ambushing and killing Dwarfs, leaving evidence that the crimes were committed by the Asur. [1a] After killing a merchant and his guards they spotted a pair of noble dwarfs travelling along the road and moved to ambush them. [1b]
Suddenly however, a Elf lord on a Dragon descended from the skies to speak with the Dwarfs and the Shades had to quickly hide. [1c] As they tried to move closer, the Dragon reared up, throwing one of the dwarfs to the loor and forcing the shades to retreat. They then headed away to meet with the Sorceress Drutheira who was to take over command. [1d]
They ambushed a small convoy of Dwarf wagons, easily overcoming the guards but nearly met their end when a paasenger was revealed to be Agrin Fireheart, a Runelord. Drutheira and her acolytes fought a magical duel against him and finally prevailed, slaying him with the tentacles of a summoned kraken of darkness. [1e]
She healed Sevekai's broken ribs but then snapped one again with her magic to show what she could at ant time. However she was also nervous of one of his warriors, Kaitar and after gifting Sevekai with routes to attack, left the shades. [1f] For the next eight years they made occassional attacks on caravans or travellers and were reduced to a team of five before Sevekai finally recieved word from Drutheira that she needed to meet with him. [1g]
He found her tired and on the run from a Dragon Mage who was closing in on her, who she wanted Sevekai to kill. [1h] When instead Princess Liandra flew to her burning home of Kor Vanaeth Drutheira attempted to contact Malekith but he did not allow her to so. She was forced to rely on Sevekai, who she took as a lover again and asked him to kill Kaitar, who she said was going to kill them. [1i]
However when Liandra instead flew to her home city being burned by the Dwarfs, they retreated again into the shadows, spending the next twenty years there, waiting for Malekith to contact them. They had eventually drifted into Athel Maraya pretending to be refugees from Kor Vanaeth and Drutheira and Sevekai became far more relaxed together. Then she received a vision from the Witch King to seek out Bloodfang in the mountains. [1j]
Skills
Although not a sorcerer, he, like many elves had a small afinity for magic and he also was known for his exceptional luck. [1a] Before he departed on his mission, Malekith had magically infused his memories of Dwarf trade routes into his mind. [1d]
