History
The Empire
Feytor was a farmer's son born in the northwestern province of the Empire - it was a hard life with much of the day-to-day running of the farm being his responsibility as his father was dead. Life was hard and when the worst winter in decades had begun, life became even harder as the caravans did not come through, and bandits roamed the wilderness. Snow remained on the ground for six months and then the tribes of northern savages began to make brutal raids, burning, looting and killing. [3]
What little food there was often spoiled and entire towns perished, starved to death, and although it seemed as if it could not get worse, it did when an epidemic broke out. It wiped out entire villages within a few days, the victims perishing in torment with bloated bodies with boils welts all over their flesh. When one of Feytor's younger siblings showed signs of the plague, all the neighbours went to Wolfenburg to seek shelter. Feytor and his family remained and cared for the child and so they too were infected. In their distress, Feytor and his mother begged all and any gods to save her and her surviving children from death. A God heard indeed, and they survived the disease and after a few days the child could even run again, even if the signs of the plague did not end. Feytor also received the plague with deep eye-rings, pale skin, and bumps all over his body. [3]
As the other villagers returned, Feytor and his family were expelled due to their sickly appearance as their neighbours considered them to be plague carriers. Feytor found that his skin and his flesh had become much more resistant to cold and injuries and he led his family to a cave at the base of the Grey Mountains where hid themselves. [3]
For a while they were happy in their refuge, living on the fruits of the forest and the yield of Feytors hunting but a deep-rooted seed of resentment had been planted in Feytors heart. However, as dusk fell one day Feytor returned from hunting to find his family burnt alive by soldiers of Ostermark. He was furious at the murderers of his family and attacked, thanks to the power his diseases had given to him, he was to kill every soldier. He survived the gaping wounds they had inflicted on him, falling unconscious when the last was killed. When he awoke amongst the now infected dead he rose to his feet and fled into the north. [3]
Norsca
He is recorded in the sagas of Norse tribes as a sickly man pursued by the southern soldiers and intrigued, they drew the men of the Empire away from him. The tribe known as the Wolf Brothers were impressed by his resilience as he survived the wounds inflicted upon him by the Empire warriors. After several weeks, they approached him and their histories record that after his coming, many turned to the worship of Nurgle with several Chaos Champions of the Plague God bringing pride and glory to the tribe. [3]
When he defeated one of their strongest warriors in two bare-fist fighting, he was allowed to join the tribe. The shaman of the Wolf Brothers told him that it was Nurgle that had protected him and made him so strong and Feytor began to worship Nurgle in earnest. He pushed for the tribe to grow in size but the Jarl, Svolos Wolf refused which Feytor resented until finally he called out the Jarl, a veteran warrior but whose mighty punches were nothing to Feytor and he bore the Norseman to the ground and killed him. From then on he led the Wolf brothers into putrefied perfection. [3]
Decayed Ones
He searched the villages of other tribes, and demanded that the men should serve his god of disease and pay tribute. The Norse quickly recognized that it was a mistake not to submit: the tribes were beaten with plague, where the cattle fell ill and died, and the harvest spoiled in barren fields. Soon he had several surrounding clans and tribes convinced by him on behalf of Nurgle to raid their neighbours, weakened by the Plague Lord's gifts they were easy victims. His tribe became known as the Decayed Ones, forsaking their previous name. They roamed the lands, seeking enemies, clad in heavy armour and advancing relentlessly in battle, ignoring any wounds inflicted upon them. When victorious they would leave a single survivor, infected with plague. [3]
When a mighty twin-tailed comet appeared, Feytor had a vision which directed him to meet and join the Uniter, Archaon's march against the Empire.[3] When he arrived, the Everchosen was greatly impressed by the massive and bloated champion of disease, making him his lieutenant representing Nurgle.
Storm of Chaos
When the vast horde under Archaon crossed the River Lynsk, he divided his force into five still vast armies, once of which was led by Feytor. [2a] He brought his diseased followers into northern Ostermark, devastating the town of Vandengart with plague and pestilence. [2b]
