Gutrot Spume, the Lord of Tentacles

Gutrot Spume, Lord of Tentacles is a Chaos Champion of Nurgle.[1a]

Appearance

His left side is a set of seven pseudopods, which many proclaimed as a sign of the favour of Nurgle.[1d]

Chaos Fleet

He commanded a large Chaos Fleet, the mightiest in Norsca.[1a]

History

Gutrot was born into the Dragonbone tribe and gained his name when but a mere youth as he often dived deep into the Sea of Claws to hunt swordsharks and eater-fish. His fighting prowess saw him become jarl of the tribe but his preference remained hunting sea life but now he tested himself against such foes as Kharibdyss, Merwyrms and Sea Serpents.[2]

He heard tales of a gigantic rot-Kraken that had been hunting along the coastline of the Bile Lands and gathered a fleet of wolf-ships to hunt it. Before they could reach their prey, they fought not only various sea monsters but also the High Elf Fleet. The remnants of his own fleet followed the diseased oily slicks that marked the passage of the Kraken and soon he found the immense beast.[2]

Spume swam down to fight the creature, plunging his blade into the fat layer that protected the kraken's skull. However, it called upon a swarm of lesser tentacled beasts who tore at Gutot, tearing off one of his arms. Fighting to survive now, Spume manged to reach the surface, but he had failed in his quest and three of the Dark Gods who had been watched looked away. However, the Lord of Decay was generous and merged his left side with the spawn that had taken his arm.[2]

Gutrot became the lord of fjord tribes in the around 2400 IC[1d] becoming known as the Lord of Tentacles.[2]

After landing in Nordland with 10,000 warriors and faced an Empire army and laughed when Emperor Karl Franz fled before him. This did not last as Katarin of Kislev froze the entire bay, most of his force being trapped in the ice. They were the slaughtered by the state troopers. Gutrot later stated that the Emperor had fled to hide behind her skirts, begging her to freeze the sea around my hordes.[1b][2]

End Times

Gutrot Spume

When the Glottkin presented him with a captured mutalith as a gift, an alliance was formed to attack the south with the great fleet of Spume carrying their army. As there was a strong chance that a High Elf Fleet could intercept his armada, Gutrot and his sorcerers enchanted his flagship in preparation. When the Eagleship's attacked, Seven pillars of thick grey green smoke billowed out to become tendrils that suffocated the elf crews - when one Eagleship tried to board the Rotten Beast, foul-smelling tentacles erupted form the ship and tore it apart. The remaining Elf ships fled the battle.[1a]

The following day, the plague armada split into three with Gutrot's elite warriors heading for Nordland from where it was intended they would fight down the Old Dwarf Road to Altdorf. The Glottkin supplied him with a plague jar given to them by the Everchosen who had in turn received it from Ku'gath Plaguefather.[1a]

Gutrot's fleet made landfall on the coast of Nordland where he pledged to kill Karl Franz himself but he was met with no defenders or enemies - at least initially. He led his host inland, skirting the woods for a couple of days before heading south-east through the depths of the forest. His forces were spotted on the edge of Laurelorn Forest by Markus Wolfhart who raced off to warn Boris Todbringer but the Elector was more preoccupied with hunting down his old nemesis Khazrak One-Eye.[1b]

As Gutrot's horde hacked their way through the Drakwald they were confronted by a force of Beastmen led by the Shaman Harbinger. He told the Spume that the Crowfather had fortold the arrival of The Tentacled One, the Champion of Urfather and that they would join the horde. However, as the two armies joined and advanced they strayed in the territory of the Forest Goblins and battle was quickly joined.[1c]

As the last spider was slain, its death throes flung spume against the rear of his palanquin, shattering the jar gifted him by the Glottkin. A mighty stench arose, event turning the stomachs of the servants of Nurgle and thick tendrils of thorny vines began to arise from wherever the liquid it had contained had splashed on the ground.[1e]

The bodies of the dead, thousands in number were borne aloft by the growths and soon formed a giant dome and temple to the Plaguefather. More was to come as the throttlevines began to create a passage through the forest to the south, towards Altdorf.[1e]

He was one of the commanders of the Nurgle horde at the Fall of Altdorf but when the power of sigmar dispelled the intrusion of the Garden into the world, Gutrot was the first to realise that there was no longer any chance of victory, ordering his forces to retreat.[1g]
