Monitors
Monitors are small warships of the Dwarf Navy. [1]
As they are much smaller than Ironcalds they usually patrol inland lakes and rivers and are rarely seen beyond the Black Gulf and the Tilean Sea. Their small fuel reserves also restricts their operations. [2] They guard the Blood River Delta but can be found as far as the allied Manling port of Somjek and the River Treblecz. [3b]
Designed to operate in squadrons, harassing enemy ships before closing to ram. [1]
Crew
They have a crew of about 20 Dwarfs. [3a]
History
The first warships designed and built at Barak Varr, they were created to counter Pirates and raiders. [3b]
Weapons and Equipment
They are armed with a single turret [1] which usually mounts a pair of Breaker Cannons, but some mount Flamecannons to deal with wooden vessels. More Breaker Cannons are mounted on each side to give a formidable broadside. Like most larger Dawi vessels, they are equipped with a ram.[3b]
