Grudge Thrower
Grudge Throwers, also known as Stone Throwers are Dwarf stone throwing catapults, originally used to control the paths to the Karaks, Dwarven strongholds, for millenia. [3a][5]
The name "Grudge Thrower" derives from the War of Vengeance, where - furious at the Elven Great Betrayal - grudges began to be carved upon the rocks by the Dwarfs, before launching them towards their enemies. [3a][4][5]
This worked very well, and so the practice has been kept in later wars against the Greenskins, Chaos, Undead and other enemies of the Dwarfs. It has been said that "an engine is only as good as the grudges it throws". [5]
In "younger" times Grudge Throwers - like all Dwarven war machines - were constructed without using wood, due to the Dwarfs' belief that wood was not a trustworthy material for any handicraft (especially not for crafting weaponry). Needs Citation
