Baragor
Baragor of Clan Drakebeard, later called Ungrim, was a Dwarf King who became the first Slayer King of Karak Kadrin. [1a][3a][3b]
Baragor took the name Ungrim, meaning "oathbound" or "oath unfulfilled" in Khazalid, a name carried by his descendants to this day.
He was considered a wise and reasonable king. [2b]
History
It is unknown what personal tragedy drove Baragor to take the Slayer oath but some speculate that it was the death of his daughter, by the claws of the dragon Skaladrak, as she was journeying to Karaz-a-Karak to marry the son of the High King. However the reason is not recorded in the Book of Grudges of his own hold, the Records of Kings or the Book of Days. [2a]
As both a Slayer and a king, Baragor was torn by different vows to seek out death but also to watch over and protect his people. [2a]
In -650 IC to honour his commitment to the Slayers, he founded the Shrine of Slayers (dedicated to Grimnir) in Karak Kadrin which soon became the centre of the Slayer Cult. [1a][2a] Still, his Slayer's vow was not fulfilled when he died in a cave-in in the tunnels below his realm, [2b] and it passed on to his son, Dargo, and then down the generations to his living descendant, Ungrim Ironfist.
Weapons and Equipment
His Dwarf Rune axe was reforged to create the Axe of Dargo. [2b]
