Jonquille de Brionne is the Duke of the Bretonnian province of Brionne. [1a]
In 2499 IC his court wizard, Mendoza purchased a parchment copy of a gold plaque brought from Lustria by a Norse explorer containing the Chronicle of Itza. Jonquille hoped that the document would provide information on where the the fabled riches of the Lizardmen where kept but several years study proved them to be a conscise history of the Temple-City of Itza but without reference to their gold. His employer was disapointed and instead sent the fleet he had gathered to raid Araby instead. [1a]
