A Bretonnian Wizard are magic users from Bretonnia. [1a]

Bretonnian Wizards are known as Wizards, Wizard Champions, Master Wizards and Wizard Lords depending on their level of power. [1a]

Court Wizards have to be wary of the Fay Enchantress as she dislikes other magic users but they often also resent the great influence on the king. [1b]

Should a noble lord have only a single daughter they are often sent to Altdorf to study magic whhich also ensures that they can control their husband though the arcane arts. [1b]

History

During a joust at the great Tournament of Couronne in the reign of King Jean le Bon, a magical duel errupted between the Court Wizard and the Enchantress. The duel concluded with the king ordering his knights to search for the toad that had once been his best sorcerer! [1b]

Magic

They have a single spell per magical level. [1a]

  • 3rd Edition: Battle, Daemonic, Elemental, Illusionist, Necromancy. [2a]

Ranks of Power

  • 3rd Edition: Amorcier < Charmier < Enchantier < Grand Sorcier < Maitre Mystérieux. [2a]

Weapons and Equipment

  • 3rd Edition: Hand Weapon. May have Bow, Crossbow, Double Handed Weapon, Flail, Halberd, Heavy Armour, Lance, Light Armour, Pistol, Shield. May ride Dragon, Horse, Warhorse, if female may ride Unicorn. May have Magic Items. [2a]
  • 5th Edition: Sword. May have Double Handed Weapon, Hand Weapon, Lance, Light Armour, Heavy Armour, Shield. May ride a Bretonnian Warhorse which may have Barding or a Monster. May have 1 Magic Item per level. [1a]
