Axe of Grimnir
The Axe of Grimnir is an ancient Dwarf weapon created by Grungni himself. [1a]
It is forged from hardened Gromril and will never loose its edge. [1a]
Bearers
History
When the Dwarf race was young, Grungni forged a pair of axes for his brother, Grimnir who fought with one in each hand. [1a]
Before Grimnir went northwards to find the Chaos Gate, the Ancestor God gave one of his axes to his eldest son Morgrim; and since then that axe had been passed down through the generations, borne in turn by each High King of the Dwarfs up until Thorgrim.[3a] But the other axe which Grimnir took became lost, along with its wielder[3b], until the weapon was eventually found in the possession of the Runemasters of Karak Dum.[4]
End Times
Thorgrim broke Dwarf-Gouger with a parry from the Axe during the Battle for Karaz-a-Karak before throttling Queek Headtaker to death and grinding his body beneath his boots. [5]
Powers
The axe will wound almost any enemy on contact, non-magical armour is no defence and even enchanted armour is usually easily penetrated. [1a]
