Lord Gritch

Gritch, Great Potentate of Pustulates is a Plague Lord of Clan Pestilens. [1a]

Greedy and grasping, Lord Gritch is grossly fat as he consumes any kind of flesh he can get his claws upon. [1b]

History

End Times

In 2253 IC he was tasked with isolating and besieging the Lizardmen city of Itza, surrounding it with spike filled pits and trenches as well as emplacements for war machines. [1a] Although he had managed to swiftly create the field fortifications, he had lost 3/4 of his slaves doing so, rather than the mere half he had anticipated but this had provided more food for his warriors. His army was also suffering losses from Skink patrols and occasional attacks by monsters who devoured dozens of ratmen before returning to the jungle. Gritch was all to aware however, that he could not make an attack until the Contagion Conclave arrived with their Cauldrons of a Thousand Poxes. [1c]

Finally they turned up, which was a little disappointing as he hoped to report them and their patron Lord Skrolk to Nurglitch himself! In due course the contents of the cauldrons were loaded onto catapults and the bombardment began - the intensely virulent and acidic loads were death to the living and corroded the hardest of substances, even Obsinite was not proof against it. [1c]

Lord Gritch rode the perimeter, ensuring his artillery was keeping up a constant bombardment on the city and as the destruction mounted and the Lizardmen were forced to pull back, so his batteries were moved forward, despite attacks by terradons although the limited damage they caused was swiftly repaired. All seemed to be going perfectly until a storm suddenly broke above Itza and with it came the Red Host of Tehenhauin, emerging from the jungle to slaughter the ratmen in the hammering rain. No skaven survived their onslaught or the Chameleon Skinks hidden in the treeline. [1c]

Weapons and Equipment

He uses a short stabbing sword blessed with runes of corruption, a Warpstone-headed mace and he rides upon a great pox rat to overcome his voluminous waddle. [1b] He also has a supply of Warpstone elixirs the imbue his form with energy whilst also boosting his already large appetite. [1c]
