Rodrik von Waldendorf
He had Blonde hair. [1a]
When the Countess was called to Nuln to investigate the deaths of her sisters, he accompanied her as her champion, albeit with misgivings about bringing Ulrika Magdova with them. He was angered when she nearly drained one of his men, Quentin to death and also when she, rather than he killed the bandits that had stopped the coach of the countess. [1b]
As the investigations in Nuln continued, Rodrik grew increasingly unhappy and jealous of Ulrika, questioning the Countess's judgement and finally betraying her by becoming a blood swain of Lady Hermione von Auerbach. [1d] He would redeem himself in a final battle at Lady Hermione's country mansion where he defended Gabriella against the Strigoi Murnau, but dying shortly after he was defeated. [1e]
|Thank you, mistrss. I am proud to have died in your defence. It is all I have ever lived for.
~ Rodrik's last words on receiving Gabriella's forgiveness.[1e]
