Brachnar
Brachnar the Damned is a Necrarch Vampire and enemy of the Lichemaster. [1a]
History
In 2412 IC, after Heinrich Kemmler began gathering Necromancers to his side, Brachnar subverts a number of them to form the Council of Nine. War breaks out between the Council and Kemmler in 2415 IC and battles take place across Estalia before Brachnar is forced to retreat into Bretonnia. [1a]
In the hills beyond Quenelles, the Council of Nine is shattered with its armies with Brachnar fleeing to Bögenhafen in 2420 IC. Kemmler follows and attacks his well fortified lair in 2422 IC and although it almost proves too strong for the besieger, Kemmler defeats the vampire in a magical duel in 2424 IC, reducing him to dust. A Hedge Wizard accidently re-animates Brachnar and is devoured, the Necrarch spends the next fifteen years plotting his revenge and gathering new servants.[1a]
After Kemmler is driven from his shattered fortress by the Bretonnians, Brachnar ambushes him in the Vaults - the ensuing battle lasts for three days and nights. Although the Lichemaster is once more victorious, the final spells he casts shatters his mind. [1a]
