Gashnag
Gashnag the Black Prince is a Strigoi Ghoul King who rules a small kingdom in the Border Princes. [1a][2]
He dwells in a soaring dark tower, hidden entrances to the catacombs below allowing his packs of Crypt Ghouls to enter and leave secretly, acting as both courtiers and spies. Wolf Packs patrol his lands and raid other lands, yet the farmers within the kingdom loose no stock from their flocks. Few who enter - be they merchants or arrogant nobles intent on taking over the small kingdom ever return. Many of the folk of his land regard him as a mysterious and even romantic figure and recently his paid bards have spread the news that the dashing Black Prince is seeking a bride. [1a]
Appearance
He is always swathed in a thick cloak which hides his malformed features and body but [1a] when turned he was slim and golden haired and had a great love of trinkets and Cathayan silks. His armour was black, finely crafted and edged in gold with pauldrons of grimacing devil faces. [3a]
Family
His cousin was Zandor who was killed by Neferata at Silver Pinnacle. [3a]
History
In -265 IC he was part of the army fighting against that of W'soran who were attacking the Strigoi kingdom. [3a] However he was overwhelmed by the ancient vampires magic and barely escaped with his life. [3c]
He has ruled his principality for several centuries, making it one of the longest surviving kingdoms in the Border Princes. [1a][2]
Three nearby kingdoms were destroyed by a Ogre tribe and Gashnag rode out alone to face them, returning the next night to plant a pole in the town square adorned with their heads.[1a] [2]
Magic
He learnt magic from Morath. [3a]
