Stirpike are huge grey-green fresh-water fish that inhabit the rivers of the Empire.[1a]
Although they average about 12 feet in length, there are reports and legends of far larger fish, especially in the waters near the ruins of Mordheim.[1a]

They are now rare in the river Stir itself, having been hunted there to near-extinction as they are not only good eating but also young Stirpike (known as Pickeral) are said to have a wide variety of useful medicinal properties.[1a]
