Angranir was the most powerful of the Flamespyre Phoenixes. [1a]
History
During the Sundering, the Elven civil war, it was struck down by a magical spell aimed at the Phoenix King Caledor I the Conqueror and could not be saved even by the most skilled physicans or the Priestesses of Isha. [1a]
The High Mage of Tiranoc, Aeldamar, was instructed to save the soul of the great phoenix to provide the people of Ulthuan with a light of hope in the future. Sadly just the burning passion remained with no remaining trace of intelligence or majesty. This energy was preserved in a enchanted topaz and became known as the Gem of Sunfire and it can still imbue the weapons of those who bear it with fire. [1a]
