Elven Steed
Elven Steeds are swift and graceful horses ridden by High and Wood Elves. [1]
High Elf Steeds are muscular but also lean and fast with lengthened ears and almond shaped eyes. [2]
The horses of the Wood Elves are trained from birth to work with their riders rather than being broken to their will as many mounts are by other races. When not being ridden they live in hidden glades and such is their boundless joy that mortals who glimpse them often think they are fey creatures. [1]
Dark Steeds
Dark Steeds are the carnivorous horses ridden by Dark Elves. During the Sundering civil war, when the armies of Nagarythe invaded the rest of Ulthuan, they captured many of the famous horses of Ellyrion. The finest of all Elven Steeds were taken back to Anlec, and there they were bred with the native horses and corrupted with Dark Magic to turn them into black-flanked killers. No longer truly a horse, a Dark Steed eats meat and can outrun the steeds of other races, galloping for days without tiring. When Malekith was cast of of Ulthuan by the Sundering, many of these steeds were slain, but a few were taken upon the Black Arks to Naggaroth. [3]
