Althinelle
Althinelle was a Captain of the Maiden Guard of Yvraine during the Sundering. [1a]
Appearance
She had long golden hair. [1a]
History
After the Massacre at the Shrine of Asuryan, Carathril and several heralds sailed to Avelorn to inform the Everqueen that the surviving princes had elected Imrik to become the new Phoenix King and her next husband. They were met by Althinelle and she informed them that the Queen sensed a darkness growing across Ulthuan and she would escort the messengers to her. As Carathrul was traveling on to Chrace seeking Imrik, the Maiden Guard Captain confirmed she would warn the companies guarding the border and it seemed Yvraine herself wished him well through her captain. [1a]
She met with Prince Dorien of Caledor to lead his army through the forests to face a Druchii army at the Battle of Avelorn's Glade. Following the destruction of the Dark Elves, Yvraine spoke to him through her captain, telling him that his brother should not delay too long before coming to Avelorn to ritually wed her. As the forest began to consume the Durchii dead, she further told him to take his dead and head to Cothique via Chrace to meet with the Phoenix King. [1b]
Her last action was at the Battle of the Gaen Vale where she fought against the Druchii but at the last, as defeat seemed certain, Yvraine drew upon her power to violently separate the Gaen Vale from the rest of the Ulthuan. Althinelle protested that the Queens power would be reduced by this act, but Yvraine told her it was the only way before she told everyone to run.[1c]
Althinelle was one of many drowned in the subsequent flood. [1c]
