Tithrain
Tithrain was the ruling High Elf Prince of Cothique during the Sundering. [1a]
History
He was elevated after the death of his predecessor at the Massacre at the Shrine of Asuryan - shortly after he attended the ceremony to create the new Phoenix King, Caledor I. Like the other Princes, save those of Ellyrion, he wanted to ensure his own lands were safe before they could carry out the kings plan of invading Nagarythe rather than trying to protect the whole of Ulthuan. [1a]
As the war continued, the Princes met again following the Battle of Avelorn's Glade where it was agreed that the kingdoms would gather soldiers for an army for the Phoenix King and/or send food and other supplies. [1b] However, those troops he was able to raise were all but wiped out at the Battle of the Gaen Vale. [1c]
Worse was to come for in the following year a huge force of 30,000 warriors landed from the now abandoned Athel Toralien, spearheaded by Hellebron and her brides of Khaine. Until he could raise a force to aid him, Caledor I ordered him to avoid battle, no matter what that may mean for his people. [1d]
At the next gathering of Princes he was accosted by various other exiled nobles of his homeland but pledged that Cothique would be liberated. When the Phoenix King replied to a query that no armaments were being sent to the kingdoms, Tithrain confirmed that nothing had been received for three years. [1e]
He fought at the climatic Battle of Maledor at the head of a company of Cothique knights. [1f] Seeing that the Witch King was about to kill a stunned Caledor whose own Dragon had been driven off, He led his cavalry in a charge, leaping over the Phoenix King to attack Malekith and Sulekh. Half of his knights were swiftly slain and Tithran himself, still raining blows on the face of the Black Dragon was bitten in half. [1g]
