Darlorhan
Darlorhan, Lord of Shadows, [1d] the Hermit Lord [1c] was a Elf Wizard who became known as The Blinding Death during the War of the Beard. [1a]
History
He gained the title the Hermit Lord due to his reclusiveness as he experimented with the exotic flora of Laurelorn Forest. He became one of the few wizards capable of binding souls into trees to preserve them from Chaos. [1c]
After the Dwarfs had destroyed Kor Immarmor and were threatening Tor Lithanel he unleashed a terrible disease on the reserves camped in the ruins of the Elf city. However following the retreat of the Dwarfs, to his horror Darlorhan discovered that what he had thought was a nature spirit aiding him was in fact a Daemon of Nurgle. [1a]
Knowing himself already damned, he did not hesitate, he destroyed all his research and killed all but the youngest of his apprentices. Darlorhan then sealed himself in crystal at Ammenvale hoping to create a magical ward that would stop further corruption. He was much mistaken. [1a]
His soul is now entangled in vines in the Garden of Blight, a prize of the Great Unclean One Grubile the Inhabited. He maintains some element of his sanity by retaining a connection to Laurelorn Forest but this also connects Grubile. [1b]
Locations
- Ammenvale: Protected by an ancient ward against Chaos, he used it for his work. [1c]
