History
When Carathril brought news of the death of Prince Aeltherin he brought the captain to the king telling him who the other courtiers were. [1a]
Morathi subverted him and he became one of her operatives, hiding objects in Bel Shanaar's quarters that provided evidence of his supposed worship of Ereth Khial. When Malekith sought to move against the Phoenix King, Palthrain prepared the poison that would first numb him and then kill him. [1b]
In -2750 IC, he was with with Prince Yianath when he proclaimed the apparent suicide of the Bel Shanaar and that Malekith was heading to the Isle of Flame to inform Elodhir and seek guidance from the council of princes. [2a] Following the Massacre at the Shrine of Asuryan Yianath sought to take control over Tiranoc immediately but this was opposed by Tirnandir and his wife Illiethrin who pointed out he was but six hundred years old and others at court would be more suitable. Palthrain suggested that the matter be discussed after the state funerals which was grudgingly accepted. [2b]
After the arrival of a substantial force from Nagarythe, the Chamberlain stood with Yianath and announced to the Court that the thousands of soldiers were there to safeguard against corruption and calling for the election of Yianath as the new ruling prince. None objected. [2c] Attempts to find and imprison Lirian and her son failed and tensions grew between Palthrain and Yeasir, commander of the Nagarythe forces. [2d]
When Palthrain discovered that Yeasir was actually aiding the escape of the princess he confronted him with a small company of warriors but the veteran soldier swiftly drew his sword and killed him. [2e]
