Coming of Chaos
He fought against Daemons with Phoenix King Aenarion the Defender and Mage Caledor Dragontamer. [2]
Thyriol attended the First Council in -4419 IC to select the successor to Aenarion at the Glade of Eternity. He tried to be calming influence at the council but pointed out that they had sent messengers to Anlec before the Council to include Morathi and Malekith in their deliberations but they were ignored. In the end Bel Shanaar of Tiranoc was elected. [1a]
Reign of Bel Shanaar
Thyriol became the ruler of Saphery and remained an advisor to Bel Shanaar. [1b]
Miranith died peacefully and Thyriol became much less interested in the material world. [2]
Rebellion of Morathi
Thyriol was part of the army that Malekith led into Nagarythe alongside his fellow princes of Saphery, Eltreneth and Merneir, fighting alongside him at the First Siege of Anlec. [1c]
In -2750 IC Thyriol joined nearly two dozen princes on the Isle of Flame at a council called by Bel Shannaar and Malekith to choose a leader to lead the war against the resurfaced Cults of Pleasure. When the King was late, he, Elodhir and Finudel persuaded the others to remain to hear what he had to say. Like many present, he was not entirely convinced that the sudden revelation of Bel Shanaar being a cultist was true. He survived the ensuring Massacre when Malekith attacked his fellow princes. [1d]
Sundering
During the elven civil war his grandson Anamedion pushed to be taught more quickly and more powerful sorcery so that he could join Phoenix King Caledor I the Conqueror in battling against the Naggarothi mages. When Thyriol refused this request, Anamedion accused him of being jealous of his talents and potential. Caledor asked him to reopen his gateway to Tor Anroc so he could transport forces to the occupied city but Thyriol did not want alert Morathi to its existence or allow the enemy to use it should the plan fail. [2]
To his horror and shame, Thyriol discovered that not only Anamedion but also his mother and other students including Alluthian, Hadryana, Meledir were using Dark Magic. When he sought them out in their hiding place in his palace of Saphethion, all but Anamedion fled through a prepared emergency portal. His grandson thought Thyriol was too weak to fight him but with a mere whisper of his grandmother's name by Thyriol, the young elf lost focus and was consumed by his own spell although Menreir was also killed in the confrontation. [2]
He sent a magical crystal to Caledor I telling him of his woes and that he and his mages had to focus on seeking out those practicing Dark Magic within his lands. Thyriol also moved his palace to the mountains and asked the Phoenix King to send any troops he might be able to spare to assist in the search. [3a]
Having successfully cleared his kingdom of all the other renegade sorcerers, Thyriol attacked the citadel of his daughter at Anul Tinrainnith with the Saphethion. Although his city suffered damage in the resulting conflict, Thyriol led an aerial assault on his Pegasus, aided by dozens of other mages on their own flying mounts but Illeanith managed to escape. [3b]
Following his cleansing of Saphery and at the request of Caledor I Thyriol hosted a council of Princes on Saphethion to discuss the war. [3c]
Saphethion
His palace-city was a floating vision of silver and white towers that surrounded a central gilded needle that glimmered with magic. Its internal maze of corridors, rooms and passages was larger than it should be and included portals to many rooms in other lands including Lothern, Montieth, Tor Anroc and Tor Yvresse. [2]

Quotes
It is not to fall upon each other that we fought against the daemons and sacrificed so much. In us has been awakened a new spirit, and we must temper our haste with cool judgement, just as a newly forged blade must be quenched in the calming waters.
