Aernuis
Aernuis was a Elf Admiral of Eataine. [1a]
History
He led some of the first elven ships across the Great Ocean but was thought to have been lost with his vessel. [1a]
In reality, they had been wrecked during a storm and although much of the crew survived, the ship was not salvageable - moving inland they were assailed by Orcs and Goblins riding wolves. After months of traveling, most of the remaining crew sought to return to the coast but Aernuis and Sutherai continued on, hiding from the greenskins until they found refuge with a small Dwarf outpost. Although the Dwarfs considering slaying them, they took pity of the bedraggled creatures and took them back to Karak Izril. [1b]
Another thirty seven years passed before they were trusted enough to meet the High King Snorri Whitebeard. [1b]
Forty years after the admiral had departed Ulthuan, Prince Malekith arrived for an audience with the High King and was not pleased to find Aernuis already in the throne room. He told Snorri that Malekith was a minor noble, but the prince countered by having Alandrian announce all of his titles - to annoyance of Aernuis, Snorri was amused by the interplay and he and Malekith immediately struck it off. [1a]
Aernuis met with Malekith, offering to be his partner and use his decades of influence and knowledge to assist him - with some reluctance, Malekith agreed. [1b]
Following a battle where the combined forces defeated Beastmen and Goblins, Malekith and Snorri grew closer in friendship. The day after the celebratory feast, Alandrain lured Aernuis away and killed him, throwing his body into a river via a waterfall and although Snorri noted the disappearance of the of the Admiral and Sutherai he was happy to continue the talks without them. Quotes
In these halls, your threats are idle. I have the protection of King Snorri; if you try to cause me harm, it would be like a assault upon the High King himself.
