Defences
It was protected by a moat of molten lava which was crossed by a hundred arched bridges, each defended by a pair of towers. In the moat, great monoliths banded with gold and silver and displaying ember runes kept the fire of the lava at bay. On the opposite side, a tall black stone wall with veins of red flowed down to the coast in undulating curves. [1]
The city was laid out for defense with the winding streets rising steadily, providing many defensive locations where the defenders could use both arrows and Magic against any attackers. Each level of the city had embrasures and redoubts with spear-like out thrusts to defend against attacks from above and a series of twenty gatehouses were spaced between the outer wall and the summit, all with bolt throwers. [1]
History
It was created by the magic of Caledor Dragontamer and his followers shaped from the raw elements of the volcanoes.[1]
When the Daemons invaded Ulthuan, the bridges had been destroyed and the moat fires had blazed as high as the multitude of city towers.[1]
Locations
The initial three levels of the city were for commerce with the next four levels being residential - villas with their own gardens for the common folk Next came the artificers' quarter and finally the towers of the noble families. [1]
- Dragon Grounds: A expanse of hard earth where the Dragons discarded their harnesses before flying back to their caves. Underground chambers housed attendants.[1]
