Yrianath
Yrianath was a High Elf Prince of Tiranoc during the Sundering.[1a]
As the oldest prince of mature age, he controlled the royal palace at Tor Anroc in the absence of Bel Shanaar or his son. [1a]
Family
He was the eldest nephew of the Phoenix King Bel Shanaar. [1a]
History
He was born around -2150 IC. [1d]
As the situation in Nagarythe devolved after Malekith was driven out for the second time, he focused on how this would effect Tiranoc's trade, especially with the colonies in Elthin Arvan. [1b]
In -2750 IC, he proclaimed the apparent suicide of the Bel Shanaar and that Malekith was heading to the Isle of Flame to inform Elodhir and seek guidance from the council of princes. Following the Massacre at the Shrine of Asuryan he sought to take control over Tiranoc immediately but this was opposed by Tirnandir and his wife Illiethrin who pointed out he was but six hundred years old and others at court would be more suitable. Palthrain suggested that the matter be discussed after the state funerals which was grudgingly accepted. [1d]
Morathi dispatched Prince Caenthras as an emissary, promising the support of Nagarythe for his claim and proposing an alliance between the two realms. [1e] After the funeral, several thousand soldiers of Nagarythe arrived in Tor Anroc to aid him in taking over[1f] which were announced as being at the Prince's invitation to help guard against corruption within the court. With so many warriors at court, none now dared to oppose his appointment as regent until Prince Anataris came of age. Reading a prepared scroll, the prince then ordered the army disarmed and dissolved the court warning that any previous commands of members of the court must not be obeyed, on pain of death. [1g]
He was later confronted by Alith Anar in his palace who offered him the chance to commit suicide and who, when he refused, killed him and mounted his head with that of Caenthras on spear heads outside the city gate. [1h]
