Anirain
Anirain is or was the capital of Cothique on Ulthuan. [1]
History
Sundering
Towards the end of the Sundering, the kingdom was invaded and conquered by Hellebron, her Brides of Khaine and a army from Athel Toralien.[1a] Those who were not immediately sacrificed to Khaine were enslaved and used to produce food for Nagarythe with any resistance resulting in sacrifice. Some, seeing no other hope turned to the worship of the Lord of Murder. Caledor I and the other Princes gathered an army and moved to liberate Cothique but found the land full of the sacrificed dead, from newborn to elder, the few survivors telling of orgies of bloodletting. Anirain itself was turned into a burned husk, the buildings little more than ruined foundations with more than 10,000 elves burned alive. [1b]
