Razorgors are the terrifying boar abominations, far larger in size and consisting of bare, unskinned muscle, occasionally covered by the sprouts of coarse hair and home to the many spikes and tusks freely protruding from the body. The very sight of this drains the enemy spirits in a way a Skeleton phalanx might, as they try to brace themselves for the inevitable charge. Their fears are well-founded, as the creature rams into the regiment with enormous power, various tusks ripping flesh apart and piercing even the finest gromril, as though they were lances used by Chaos Knights.1

Once stopped inside a regiment, Razorgors lose the advantage of speed, though the ordinary soldier wouldn't really feel the difference, as the Razorgor easily equals the deranged Trolls in its brutish strength. It is also frighteningly hard to put down, shrugging off enough blows to slay an Ogre. However, this power has its price: such is the energy needed to sustain the beast's metabolism, that Razorgors can gobble an Imperial Knight and his noble mount in a matter of seconds.1

Lastly, while a single Razorgor is deadly enough on its own, they are rarely alone. While they're thankfully much rarer than their tamer cousins, Tuskgors, Beastmen tribes often amass whole herds of Razorgors, leading to a nigh-unstoppable force... assuming that they will stay on the battlefield. Being nothing but powerful beasts, the Razorgors aren't concerned about destroying civilisation, and if things happen to go against the tribe, they're more than likely to flee the battlefield.1

Razorgor

Razorgors are huge, massively mutated boars, and larger relatives of the similar Tuskgors.[4]

Appearance

Like all creatures of Chaos, Razorgors are plagued by various mutations and no two look precisely alike. However, most resemble monstrous boars, although they are closer in size to bears, covered in bony spikes, coarse hair, and sharp tusks.[2]

Ecology and behavior

Razorgors are voracious omnivores, with a preference for fresh meat. Their natural prey are Beastmen, but their appetite and metabolism are strong enough that Razorgors can gobble an Imperial Knight and his mount in a matter of seconds. Beastmen believe that Razorgors have two states of being: an unthinking rage in which they spend most of their time, and digestive torpor following large meals.[2][4]

In war

Beastman chiefs view Razorgors as powerful status symbols, and will attempt to break and harness particularly large specimens when these are encountered by the tribe. This is a very dangerous task, not least because Razorgors view Beastmen as their primary prey, but not doing so risks the chieftain appearing weak and being challenged for his position by his followers. The taming usually consists of the chief beating the Razorgor on the head with a large club while trying to avoid being gored to death. Most die in the process; those that succeed usually have their followers build a sturdy chariot that they then hitch to the beast.[2]

Binding

Wizards of other races use Scrolls of Binding to enslave Razorgors as war beasts. The creatures' low intelligence makes them easily controlled, but obtaining them requires the dangerous task of venturing into the dark, monster-haunted and Beastman-ruled forests where they live. If successfully bound, Razorgors are most useful as powerful, intimidating and expendable muscle. Bound herds can be sent into shieldwall-breaking berserk charges, but are usually sent to battle with the expectation, and often hope, that they will perish and save their master the task of corralling blood-mad Razorgors once the battle ends and the binding spells wear out.[3]

Notable

 • Gribbleback: Enormous Razorgor that is a terror to Hochland.[3]
 • Guttgouge: A Razorgor raised by the Beastlord Urgor Twinfist, who fed it exclusively with the flesh of his rivals.[2]

Weapons and Equipment

 • W:TOW: Calloused Hide (Light Armour), Tusks (Hand Weapon).[4]
