Savan
Savan of Tiranoc was a High Elf Mage and student of Caledor Dragontamer. [1][2]
History
He was one of the few students to survive the creation of the Great Vortex (in -4421 IC) and was instrumental in continuing the legacy of magical knowledge at Ulthuan. Over decades he became a renowned teacher of the arcane himself and took many students. [1][2]
As time passed, he found less and less challenges in his teaching and set out across the world to find a greater one, seeking the treasures of the Old Ones and even conferring with the Slann.[1][2] On his return he pledged to claim to the top of the Annulii Mountains and seek out the gods - but when he finally returned he was physically changed - being eyeless and his hair transformed from jet black to snow white. [1]
Savan never spoke of what he had encountered - in fact he never spoke again and never used his magic. Finally after being haunted by nightmares for years he threw himself from the tallest tower of his mansion but although his servants saw him fall, his body was mysteriously never found. [1]
Legacy
High Elves developed their version of Qhaysh, the High Magic, from what lore Savan had preserved.[2]
