Cult of Pleasure
The Cult or Cults of Pleasure are the dark part of the numerous Cults of Excess[1][2] that mostly worship the Cytharai goddess Atharti. [7]
Renowned for its cruelty, narcotic vapours and living sacrifices, the Cult was secretly founded by Morathi who had visions of the Coming of Chaos since she was a little girl. With the inevitability of Chaos, she sought to both prepare the Elves for the onslaught but also retain political control.[1][7]
History
It was formed around -3419 IC in Nagarythe and slowly spread through Ulthuan.[1][3][4] In truth it was a new guise for Chaos worship.[5][13a] When Malerion returned home he fought against the cults and even arrested his mother but when he was rejected and severely burnt by Asuryan Morathi’s pleasure cults reemerged to aid her and then her son. [7]
Even after the civil war of The Sundering, the Cult of Pleasure remained active in Ulthuan.[3] Slaaneshi worship in Naggaroth continues to cause a schism between the followers of the Witch King and his mother.[7]
Although he had been trapped in the Great Vortex after being defeated by Aenarion, the Greater Daemon N'Kari was able to corrupt countless Elves through dreams and visitations. [7]
