Freida Grünwald
Freida Grünwald was a famous Hedge Wizard of Talabheim. [1a]
She remains a folk hero in her home city, some even claiming that she created the Wizards Way although scholars are sure it dates back to the founding of the city or even before. [1a]
History
In 1361 IC, not long after Grand Duchess Ottilia I had declared herself Empress, she commissioned Frieda to create a college of magical learning to counter the famous Wizards' and Alchemists Guild of Middenheim. [1a]
She won a magical duel against the head of the Guild in 1367 IC, a deed that is still recalled with a statue in the city. [1a]
One of her descendants, Heinz Grünwald went to learn magic from Teclis during the Great War against Chaos but was talented enough that he was taught little he did not already know. [1a]
