Helbrecht von Helsing
Baron Helbrecht von Helsing of Wurtbad is a nobleman of the Empire and commander of the Steam Tank Unrepentant. [1]
He is a cousin of the Elector Count of Stirland. [1]
History
From an early age he was fascinated by science and technology and in awe of what the Imperial Engineering School of Altdorf created. [1]
When he discovered that the School was short of funds, he approached them and offered a large portion of his impressive wealth in exchange for a single Steam Tank. The need for a wealthy patron overrode their reluctance and he was given command of the Unrepentant. [1]
During experiments with a dual mounted Helblaster Volley Gun, he lost his left leg. [1]
Modifications and inventions
He has improved the engine of the tank in a number of ways, increased the boiler capacity and had a full leather interior fitted. Various experimental armaments were tried, including the ill-fated dual Helblaster but the current configuration is Helbrecht's exalted-velocity fusillade of ultra-rotary unleashment. This consists of 24 modified Handguns in a series of concentric circles which are loaded individually and then can all be fired in rapid succession. It is however extremely time-consuming to reload and Helbrech has commissioned the School to find a way to speed this up. [1]
