History
A member of the Jade Order, in 2383 IC he won the position of Supreme Patriarch. [1a]
In his day, he was known for wandering the world to discover the diversity of nature and trace the courses of Ghyran throughout the land. [1b] Paranoth gained great wisdom and now he is mainly remembered for the codification of the hues and symbols associated with the eight lores of magic now known as the Great Wheel, a commonly recognized icon of the Colleges but to wizards however, it is known as Paranoth’s Wheel. [1a]
Beltran the Perspicacious, a Wizard Lord of the Celestial Order was both a contemporary and rival to Paranoth and this escalated into attacks on one another’s reputation and eventually to violence. The duel was initially a stalemate but fellow celestial Wizard Lord Otto von Heiermat quietly told Paranoth of several blind spots in Beltran’s foresight which resulted in the death of Beltran and the resulting Paranoth's Column can still be found just outside Eilhart. [1b]
Paranoth's Wheel
Paranoth hoped to illustrate his hypotheses that particular lores were associated according to their proximity on the wheel and therefore that magisters working with a particular lore had superiority over those working with a lore clockwise to their own but were inferior to those working with the lore anticlockwise to their own. He further contended that lores on opposite sides of wheel were antithetical to one another. [1a]
