Wilhelm Leiber
Wilhelm Leiber was a writer who sought to discover and reveal the reality of the Skaven. [1]
History
He was born into a wealthy family and became a scholar but whilst studying Humanities and Language, he head Magnus the Pious speaking and like so many joined the army marching to the aid of Kislev during the Great War Against Chaos. [1]
In that campaign, he fought against Beastmen, Kurgan horsemen and mutants and witnessed many atrocities before they reached Praag. He never lost his faith in Sigmar, staying true to his duty until they began the long march home having defeated the forces of Chaos. [1]
Camping in the forests of northern Ostland, he and about a thousand comrades were attacked by a great force of Skaven. A massacre ensued and Wilhelm was the only survivor, managing to reach another encampment but was horrified to find that he was not believed - that his attackers were Beastmen and was threatened with a court martial for leaving his post![1]
In the next few weeks he discovered other survivors of similar attacks and that all of their accounts had been ridiculed by the Imperial commanders. He determined to spend his life researching and recording the evils of the Ratmen. [1]
Over the next ten years he faced and overcame the many obstacles including being disinherited by his own family. He continued his work and wrote The Loathsome Ratmen in 2313 IC. [1]
