Leopold von Stroheim
Leopold von Stroheim was a (pretender?) Elector Count of Middenland and General of the Empire. [1a][2]
History
Stroheim was one of the many leaders of Empire forces sent to Albion. He had a particularly bitter rivalry with Baron von Schreck of Averland who considered Stroheim a mere northern pretender and not a true Elector Count. Stroheim in turn saw Schreck as an arrogant and floppish noble and laughed at the Barons belief in man-sized, intelligent rats.[2]
After the campaign was over Stroheim disputed the leadership of the new colony of Neuland from Lord Ravenbrandt.[3a] Later he was recalled from the fledgling province and quickly found he was no longer welcome at the Court of the Emperor, all due to the influence of Lord Ravenbrandt. [1a]
Leopold became a sword for hire with his last employer being Prince Lorenzo of Miragliano whose home was sacked by the Skaven. After his employer charged into the marshes after the ratmen and in search of his missing son, Leopold found himself heavily outnumbered and pursued by a much larger force of Skaven. [1a]
With less than a hundred men left, the former warriors of the Empire made a last stand against the enemy. [1a]

Quotes
Men of the Empire. Today we face our death, but we are men of courage and though they may take our lives, they will never defeat us! Onward!
~ Leopold von Stroheim.[1a] |
Trivia
He is stated to be the Elector Count of Middenland, but this not mentioned anywhere else.[2] It might be that the claim that Stroheim is a pretender is valid.
