They are usually commanded by an Admiral and act as the flagship of any flotilla [1a], the commander of the vessel having a superior view from its high aftcastle. [2]

A Great Ship is a large and well armed ship, usually packed full of well-armed soldiers of the Empire, in addition to fore and aft firing cannon, each has three batteries that can unleash a devastating broadside. [2]
