History
The keep was founded around 1800 IC by the Knights of Sigmar's Blood with riches taken from Araby on crusade. It grew over the centuries from a modest bastion until it became a bustling city with the grandest castle in the province. [1b]
End Times
In 2523 IC Waaagh! Bludtoof attacked the city and although the greenskins were driven off or killed, the western wall was badly battered, almost to the point of collapse. Althought Grand Master Hans Leitdorf spared no expense in repairing the damage, it was done in a hurry and so remained a weakness. Conscious of this, the wall was reinforced with several batteries of cannon from Nuln. [1b]
In 2524 IC Arkhan the Black and Mannfred von Carstein advanced on the fortress seeking to retrieve the armour of Nagash, Morikhane from its vaults leading to the Fall of Heldenhame. During that battle the walls were shattered, large portion of the garrison died and the vaults were breached. [1b]
As Hans Leitdorf with his knights prepared to ride to Sylvania for vengeance, a large horde of Beastmen attacked the battered fortress. However, the second battle went better than the first and charging knights had routed the beastmen. The city secured, Leitdorf gave command of the defences to Captain Volker and departed towards Altdorf. [1c][1d]
