Essen
Essen is a haunted town in Ostermark in the Empire. [1a]
It is located on the North Stir river bewtween the Dead Wood, the Erie Downs and Hel Fenn across the river to the south. [1a]
History
During the Vampire Wars, soldiers of Essen discarded their old regimental colours and donned new uniforms of red and black, wearing masks to guard their identity, becoming the Death's Heads. They not only managed to free their home, but also went on to fight the undead on many battlefields including at the Battle of Hel Fenn. [1a]
After the destruction of Vlad von Carstein, the town was controlled by Konrad von Carstein and he was forced to defend it against the Necrarch Lord, Sethep the Merciless, beheading him at the Battle of Essen Ford.[2]
