The Siege of Tlaxtlan was an attack on the Lizardmen Temple-City of Tlaxtlan by the Skaven Clan Pestilens during the End Times in 2523 IC.[1a]
The Plague Lord Kreegix the Ravener led his horde to attack the city, first unleashing a huge wave of slaves to attack the walls, with the Skink defenders quickly cutting them down as they did with the next four waves - only the sixth managing to make progress, taking the walls and attacking the gatehouses. Plague Furnaces were then brought forward and smashed through the Black Onyx Gates of the Dreaming Lotus, the Gate of the Starpaths and the Silver Moongates. [1a]
The skaven flooded into the city, clogging the avenues of the interior as the defenders sought to stem the tide but quickly the Lizardmen were overwhelmed and pushed back. Tetto'eko, with the cities Slann still unconscious from their efforts to stop the Chaos Moon, Morrslieb, ordered that the Relic Priest be taken by the Ahmo Chotectzi to try and activate the defences of the Ziggurat of Quelti. However despite their presence, only some runs ignited and the mystic dome did not activate. [1b]
For a full night and a day, the battle raged across the city with the main temple-pyramids holding fast but still the Slann did not awaken. Tetto'eko had to decide whether to try and hold the city or save the Mage Priests - he could not do both and so he ordered that the still unconscious Slann be gathered up and the Lizardmen retreat from their home. As the Skaven began to swarm around the Temple of Chotec, Tetto'eko used the copious Winds of Magic to reach out into the heavens, finding a a meteor which he began to draw down towards his home.[1b]
The retreat order came too late for one Slann in the Temple of Chotec who was dragged out and torn apart and before the Lizardmen could escape the city, three more were found and killed - Ixi-Tehenci being one of them - his attendants having delayed too long securing extra mealy-grubs for their master. [1b]
As the rearguard held back the rampaging Skaven, a massed force of Stegadons pushed through the enemy lines, allowing the column of Lizardmen to make their escape. They had managed to retreat several miles before the meteor hit the city, the resulting blastwave flattening the jungle and even throwing stegadon into the air - a full two thirds of the Lizardmen were killed by the blast and following firestorm. As the survivors looked back at the dustcloud, Adohi-Tehga finally began to awaken. [1b]
