Wolf-Rat
The Wolf-Rat is a creation of the Skaven Clan Moulder. [1]
As their name suggests they combine the ferocity and power of a Wolf with the viciousness and cunning of a Giant Rat.[1]
At a distance they can be mistaken for their canine ancestors, but their heads, tails and claws are those of rats. Most are grey or brown, but a few are white or other colours. [1][2]
History
Clan Moulder blended the blood of giant wolves of Kislev into Giant Rats but they proved to so bloodthirsty that they seemed untrainable. Even as they were destroyed, some escaped into the tunnels of the Under-Empire, hunting whatever they could, including the Skaven. [2]
Despite this, Master Moulders have managed to capture and train them [2] but seldom supply other clans with the most stable of this breed. The largest and strongest are fed on their own dead in spiked cages driving them to attack anything they encounter when they are released on the battlefield. [3]

Quotes
Mikoff was the first to go, dragged off his horse when two of the bloodhtirsty beast leapt at him from the trees either side of the path. Leitold was next, then Grimald then Berthar; all hamstrung and ripped open, bleeding out - good as dead before any of the rest of us could bare steel. Then the woods were alive with the vile things, screeching like razors on glass. So what did I do? I high-tailed it out of there of course. I'm not bloody stupid!. |
