Bathinair
Bathinair was a Prince of Yvresse before the Sundering. [1a]
History
He was part of the army of Prince Malekith that invaded Nagarythe and fought at the First Siege of Anlec. [1a]
Bathinair was part of the council on the Isle of Flame called by Bel Shanaar and Malekith to determine a leader who would defeat the Cults of Pleasure. When Malekith stated that Bel Shanaar had been a cultist and committed suicide, Bathinair proposed that a new Phoenix King be chosen. [1b]
After an argument, Malekith stated he would be the new Phoenix King and drew Avanuir, he was attacked by Elodhir who was intercepted by Bathinair. Elodhir punched him but the Yvressian retaliated with a small hidden blade and slit his throat. [1c]
He and knights of Anlec escorted the body of Malekith to Tor Anroc where Morathi joined them, swearing vengeance on those who had killed her son - however as they traveled home she discovered he was still alive. In Anlec, Bathinair brought her a letter taken from a Sapherian herald which spoke of naming Imrik as the next Phoenix King. She ordered him to seek out the High Priest of Khaine and bring her his best assassins before he was allowed to return to cavort with the Athartists. [2a]
As the civil war continued, Morathi grew more and more frustrated with her subordinates and after summoning him and his army took his magical sword from him. She asked if one his captains, Ekheriath wanted to be a prince - when he said yes, she gutted him and kicked him away, stating that Princes do not fail me. She then offered the blade to the next captain, Nemienath and told him to kill Bathinair which he did, chopping off his arm first and then plunging his sword into his exposed neck. [2b]
Weapons and Equipment
He rode a huge Griffon, Redclaw, three times the size of a horse with crimson claws as large as swords. Bathinair used Nagrain, the Spear of Ice. [1a]
